The story of Capral begins with the rise of aluminium — a material that transformed modern industry. Today, Capral continues to build on this legacy, supporting Australia’s construction and manufacturing sectors.

This section explores the sites that have shaped Capral’s manufacturing and distribution network, highlighting the locations where capability was built, expanded and refined to support industries and communities across Australia.

New South Wales is where Capral’s story begins, from early manufacturing at Granville to major sites at Smithfield and Penrith, building capability and supplying Australia’s largest industrial market.

Victoria has played a key role in Capral’s network, with Campbellfield anchoring extrusion capability, supported by sites at Lynbrook and Laverton servicing construction, industrial and architectural markets.

Queensland has been central to Capral’s expansion, from Eagle Farm to Bremer Park, supporting industrial, construction and regional markets while strengthening large-scale manufacturing and distribution capability.
By June 1941, around 460 employees had been trained in the full range of aluminium fabrication activities, despite most having never previously set foot inside an aluminium works.

Western Australia has been a key part of Capral’s network, with operations at Welshpool, Wangara and Canning Vale supporting mining, construction and regional industries across one of Australia’s most geographically dispersed markets.

South Australia has played an important role in Capral’s network, with operations at Kilburn and Angaston supporting local industry, strengthening distribution capability and servicing building and industrial markets across the state.

New Zealand extended Capral’s reach beyond Australia, with local operations supporting customers through distribution and service while strengthening connections across the broader Australasian aluminium market.
Capral has supported evolving industries, applying aluminium capability to new challenges and opportunities across transport, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.

Shaping Australia’s skyline, Capral has supported architectural innovation through aluminium systems used in major buildings, contributing to the design, performance and delivery of projects across the country.
