Capri Apartments

Set on the shores of Brisbane Water, Capri is a premium residential development designed by White & Dickson Architects and constructed by Richard Crookes Constructions. Designed to offer privacy, light, and sweeping waterfront views, the development consists of 20 luxury apartments across five levels, with no common walls and three architecturally distinct wings. PCW Commercial Windows was selected as the fabricator for the project, choosing a range of Capral Aluminium windows, doors, and framing systems to enhance the development’s coastal aesthetic and deliver high structural performance.

The brief for Capri was to create spacious, light-filled apartments that prioritised privacy and visual connection to the surrounding water and landscape. The design team was committed to achieving a seamless integration between indoor and outdoor living areas, while ensuring each apartment delivered a premium living experience.

To support these goals, Capral Aluminium window and door systems were selected for their flexibility and ease of installation. The development features several Capral products, including the Capral AGS 400 Narrowline and Capral AGS 600 Narrowline framing systems, Capral AGS 225 Hinged Doors, and Capral AGS 900 High Performance Series Sliding Doors. These products provided a cohesive solution that aligned with the architectural vision while supporting thermal performance and long-term durability.

A standout feature of the project is the AGS Commercial 900 High-Performance Sliding Door. Known for its capacity to accommodate large panel sizes and provide expansive openings, this system connected the living area to the balconies overlooking the water. The sliding doors enhanced natural light and ventilation while ensuring smooth, long-term operation—a key consideration in a coastal climate.

Complementing the sliding door system were the Capral AGS 400 and 600 Narrowline framing systems. Both systems were ideal in maximising natural light and highlighting views, while still delivering the strength required for a high-exposure waterfront location.

PCW Commercial Windows played a vital role in bringing the architect’s vision to life. Their expertise in commercial glazing, combined with close collaboration with the project team, helped ensure that each window and door solution was tailored to meet both performance and design requirements. PCW’s attention to detail and experience in coastal applications contributed to the seamless integration of Capral systems throughout the building, helping to deliver a refined, high-performing outcome aligned with the project’s vision.

Capri, Point Frederick, was awarded the 2018 UDIA NSW Award for Excellence in Regional Development, a recognition of its outstanding design, construction quality, and liveability. Despite the complex site requirements, the collaboration between the design team, builder, and fabricator PCW Commercial Windows ensured a smooth delivery with performance-led outcomes.
