About the project

The Zeus Dominator is a” rolling sculpture” created by the artist, a design concept that was hatched about 15 years ago. Inspired by Formula 1 design, ( although within the constraints of ADR road registration requirements) the creation adheres to the principals of “form follows function”, where the basic engineering requirements were addressed firstly, and the minimal body sculptural form evolved as it was constructed.

The entire project start to finish was constructed solely by the artist in his 250sqm studio at Cygnet Tasmania, a process that took 12 months full time and 3500 hours.

Power plant, Holden V8 with auto transmission, perfect for sunny day cruising.

Tony has been producing polished metal sculptures for 20+ years, and predominantly works with marine grade aluminium, supplied by Capral Glenorchy Tas.

Most of his past works have been commissions, including the award winning polished aluminium violin, and the latest being a full size 3m wingspan “wandering albatross” hand fabricated from 3mm 5083 plate and mirror polished.

The artists background started in automotive restoration and customisation, then progressing to the aluminium fast ferry industry across Australia, architectural fabrication, and stretch limousine building.
